Take the Plunge: Getting Started with Watercolor

Get your feet wet (and your paper) with this fun 6-week introduction to watercolor painting. This class is designed for people with no watercolor experience. Learn, explore and practice basic techniques such as wet in wet, flat and graded washes, color mixing and lifting/erasing while creating a variety of small paintings. You will also learn how to choose the correct paper, brushes and paints to ensure success as you begin your watercolor journey. All techniques will be demonstrated. Class size will be kept to a maximum of 6 to ensure individual attention for all students.
Instructor Judy Thompson is a professional, award winning artist who loves to teach watercolor. She is a member of the Great Plains Watercolor Society, a signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society and an approved teaching artist with the South Dakota Art Council. The $150 class fee includes all of the art materials needed for this class (including watercolor tube paints, sketch and watercolor paper, and watercolor brushes), yours to keep.
