Anna Redsand Author Talk
October 13 at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Iowa author Anna Redsand will read from her latest book, Crevice: A Life Between Worlds, at the Orange City Public Library on October 13, 2025, at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
Crevice contains stories and reflections about Redsand’s life growing up in New Mexico’s Navajo Nation as the daughter of Christian Reformed missionaries and about her later work in Navajo education. Besides reading, discussing, and signing copies of her book, Redsand will show examples of her fabric and paper art, tying the crafts to stories in her book.
Much of Redsand’s adult life has been spent trying to understand how she belongs between the two very different worlds of the Dutch American and the Navajo. Crevice will appeal to anyone who has wondered, even if only briefly, where or if they belong. It will be of special interest to anyone who has lived in a culture different from their parents’ culture, as well as anyone fascinated by other cultures, especially indigenous ones,
Crevice is published by Choeofpleirn Press and is the winner of its 2024 Kenneth Johnston Nonfiction Book Award. It was a semi-finalist in the 2024 River Teeth Literary Nonfiction Book Prize Contest. Anna is also the author of To Drink from the Silver Cup: From Faith Through Exile and Beyond and Viktor Frankl: A Life Worth Living, as well as numerous essays, stories, and articles.
