Flowers of the Prairie
June 12 at 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Dr. Danuta Hutchins of Humanities Iowa will identify prairie wildflowers, their common English names and Linnaeus-based classification in Latin. Learn when they blossom, where they grow, and what medicinal and food uses have they served during the times of early pioneers and Native American Peoples. This program includes a “hands-on” component of drawing/coloring images of those flowers.
