State Historical Society of Iowa

Find many resources online, including:

State Library of Iowa

The State Library of Iowa also offers a few web archives that may be helpful in your research.

Northwestern College DeWitt Library

Schedule a meeting with an archivist! Northwestern’s archives have a lot of wonderful materials for local history research. Contact them via reflib@nwciowa.edu or 712-707-7234.

The Sioux County Courthouse

The courthouse will have official records such as Land records and Board of Supervisor minutes.

The Dutch American Heritage Museum

The museum contains Dutch and local artifacts, and the volunteer board members are knowledgeable about the history of this area and excited to talk about it. Schedule a visit via their Facebook page.

Greater Sioux County Genealogical Society

The genealogy society has a collection of information on local families on their online archive.

They meet at the Sioux Center Public Library on the 3rd Monday of each month between April and November. You can also contact them via query@mtcnet.net or visit their facebook page for more information.
