Kids

Preschoolers

The Orange City Public Library offers story times in the spring, summer, and fall. Each story time is planned with a particular age range in mind, but all children are welcome to join us! Children must have an adult accompany them to library programs.

Preschool Story Times

You and your child can join us for stories at the library or out and about in the community. Preschoolers will benefit from even more exposure to literature through a variety of books, songs, activities, and crafts!

Movin’ & Groovin’ Story Time

Children 6 months-3 years and their caregivers enjoy this interactive program featuring books, rhymes, songs, and stories, while learning pre-literacy skills.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Sign up at the front desk of the library for this incredible journey that encourages your child to have a passion for reading at a young age. Setting aside time to read with your child also creates memories and priceless bonding time. Receive a free book when you sign up your child (ages birth – preschool) for this fun, self-paced program. Record the books you read, and then sign up to attend a graduation ceremony for your child after you read 1,000 books!

Grade School Activities

STEM Challenges

Anytime can be the right time to explore STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Join Sandy and Phyllis for experiments, engineering challenges and demonstrations with fun hands-on STEM activities! Materials are provided and the STEM learning is limitless. Offered to K-2nd graders and 3-4th graders.

Art Classes

We love to give kids an opportunity to create art. These classes are usually offered as a series for a small fee.

Early Out Friday Fun

On early out Fridays we offer a variety of activities for students such as Movies,  LEGO, and chess classes.
